Budgeting for Non-Profits

Financial boot-camp for non-profits is a series of financial workshops geared towards equipping individuals interested in starting (or who currently run) a non-profit of their own with the financial knowledge needed to be successful.  These workshops will focus exclusively on the financial aspects of running a non-profit organization from grant writing, to tax consequences, to budgeting. Efrem Jackson, founder of Free to Serve will be presenting on non-profit budgeting basics and will discuss the following:

  • How to connect your non-profits value statement to a working budget
  • How to navigate around typical budgeting pitfalls that can keep an organization from achieving its goals.
  • How to create and implement a budget
  • General overview of the budgeting process
  • Review of key documents (balance sheet , statement of cash flow etc.)

This workshop series is a joint collaboration with Iowa State University Extension Office and Evelyn K Davis Center for Working Families. This session is free and open to the public.
